You Could Lose Your Licence if You Litter the Road
For a huge amount of time people have literally been dropping litter from their vehicles, whether it be a crisp or sandwich pack people have been polluting the roads for years. Statistics demonstrate that to a greater extent than 700,000 bags of trash are collected from the roads of England every single 24-hour interval.
But a lot of things could soon be changing as campaigners are pushing for road litterers to get penalty points.
Have you ever been driving on the road when suddenly the passenger infront of you opens there window and chuck all the rubbish out. Not only will this end up hurting the planet, but it will also cause a huge amount of danger on the roads. Just consider that you were driving at high speeds on the motorway and suddenly out of nowhere a piece of litter hits your windscreen. That windscreen will probably end up smashing on you.
So what is literally going to happen is that you are actually going to lose control of the vehicle and cause a major accident. I actually think that points combined with a fine will help eliminate this. Members of the public are being asked to report incidents of people throwing litter from vehicles to the Keep Britain Tidy website to help analyse where and when it is happening.
By the end of the year if there is enough people complaining about the volume of litter being hit on the roads then the new law could effectively come into effect. There is actually no excuse for people throwing out their litter, instead keep it in the car until you find a bin.
