Those of us who live in the UK are probably watching the BP oil spill with fascination and worry about how it will affect the environment. Even though the oil spill is not close enough to cause any immediate damage to the UK, it can often happen these days that one part of the world is quickly affected by something that is happening elsewhere in the world. And that is why there is a lot of concern that the disaster in the gulf of Mexico is going to have the effect of increased heating oil prices here in the UK. (more…)

This winter proved that most of us could be doing more to reduce the amount of oil we are using to heat our homes. The really cold weather meant that we had to have our heating on for longer periods leaving many of us with bills we really weren’t expecting. And we will more than likely have to have our heating on for longer periods again next year if we get a similar winter to this one. (more…)
